Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

US actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, per reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a statement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive TV Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of well-known programs, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named "Beer Shark Mice".

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.

The actor is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
