NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes text commentary for the weekend matchups via various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the NFL season , following last week's talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests were the number of infractions both committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times meaning they essentially beat themselves after leading 17-3 entering the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this weekend.

However it proved positive to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to overcome that deficit and then direct three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are first in red zone defence, while the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, yet the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They executed effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always sending extra defenders instead they might plug two LBs in the interior then drop them out and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

Early on of the season, we said on a program that the Broncos could be this season's dark horses. They ended last season strongly then did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has excelled big and new RB their rusher is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive that head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows that Denver are a squad that wants to run first, since one can do a lot off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while maintains in positive down and distances.

It's also helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he's highly agile.

His strengths include his movement, being able to pass on the run, as well as using different arm angles to make the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got great poise under pressure and is not bothered by extra rushers. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and can pass in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

When you constantly run the ball it eats up time and forces the defence to stay on the field for longer, and when you've got a mobile QB the defense has to defend the area vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's fun for him to have a young quarterback that is similar to moldable clay. He can really build something up how he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton owns a championship and has surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids shape him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to assist you through difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, that's a solid position to hold the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at leaning into their forte, which is running the ball, and this is precisely what they must do against the New York Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad without a win any game.

Ever since the league began tracking turnovers in 1933, the Jets are also the first team to be without any turnovers in five outings, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs are off to a poor start after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.

It depends on which form of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
