Within the fiercely contested arena of gaming, it's usual for fresh competitors to vanish as swiftly as they burst on to the stage.
But this new installment is aiming to change that.
Here comes the newest release in a established military shooter line frequently framed as a more realistic alternative to its main competitor.
The title has never quite been able to equal its top rival in terms of sales or gamers, but evidence points to the new installment could narrow the difference.
An early access weekend giving gamers a opportunity to try out the game not long ago set new benchmarks, and the hype heading into its release has been huge.
But the undertaking is nonetheless a significant venture for company its creators, which has allegedly invested vast amounts of dollars making it.
We have talked to several the developers to discover how they expect it will pay off.
Several teams were working on the game under the unified development umbrella.
Among them are long-time producer Dice, headquartered in Europe, California's Motive team and the Canadian studio in Canada.
One more, the UK studio, is located in Guildford.
A key leader is the executive of the two EU-based studios, and explains to reporters that, in respect of what it's providing users, "this new game is arguably unmatched."
The new release follows the heels of the advanced the last installment, published previously to a unfavorable response it struggled to bounce back from.
"It's likely that we would find it impossible to create and produce the latest entry lacking the learnings we acquired in the last release," Rebecka shares with us.
A key those lessons was to involve the community participating soon, and the studio started invite-only community trials earlier this year.
This "feedback was incredibly favorable," comments the manager.
Another omitted element from the previous installment was a story mode, which has been reintroduced for this release.
The UK studio design director Fas Salim is the person responsible for "ensuring those missions are as fun and engaging as possible for the audience."
Regardless of allegations that the size of the project had challenged the various teams working together across continents to create the title, Fas is optimistic about the endeavor.
"Working with diverse cultures, distinct heritages, it's a very engaging environment to be engaged with daily," he shares.
"This entire method has been something new but something really exciting because we are partnering with people from all over the world."
As for the expectation on the crew, he states: "We feel pressure but additionally it's thrilling.
"It's a major undertaking. It's arguably the largest that the majority of the team have ever been involved in."
This is certainly accurate of a minimum of an individual staff, VFX specialist Vlad Kokhan.
This young professional creates the atmospheric effects that shape the mood, style, and direction of the story mode.
He finished an internship at the studio preceding getting a job there, and currently works on a part-time basis while completing his VFX degree at his school.
He states he's a dedicated enthusiast of the games, and remembers experiencing the earlier title of the line at a friend's house when he was a child.
To be on it at present, as his initial career position, "seems unreal tangible."
"It's truly incredible witnessing the marketing in many places," he shares.
"Understanding that I have contributed my own thing into the project is very dreamlike."
