The newcomer His maiden beginning for his country. A bit careless in possession however his inswinging deliveries posed a danger. An effective game manager available to the coach to utilize against sides that sit back. Booked for a poorly timed foul. 6/10

The midfielder Deliveries on corner kicks and free kicks created chances. Was given room to drift on the left only to be offside as the pass came in shooting positions. Given a deserved substitution after an hour. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Played in a forward position on the right and did plenty of dirty work. Showed moments of class but scuffed a shot over. Withdrawn late on by a teammate, his competition, after receiving a caution. 7/10

The winger Was presented with England’s best chance in the opening period, his strike well saved by the opposing goalkeeper. With Quansah hanging back, it fell to him to provide width down the right side but his crosses into the box were inconsistent. Substituted late in the match. Six

Harry Kane The difference-maker with his 77th and 78th goals in an England shirt. His first a trademark close-range tap-in and the second an excellent headed goal having drifted away off his defender. Now 32, he continues to improve and England stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament with him leading the line. Eight

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to make an impact on the left flank. Was presented with a good opening when set up from a teammate but Strakosha made the save. His replacement made much more of effect in his place. 5/10
