Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers mentioned they were notified by a resident who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Roughly 50 vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.

Police say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then located many other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Police report preliminary tests show the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; investigators are currently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they commented.

Local authorities announced they were trying "to resolve the case" and have asked to the community for details.

An important official commented the incident left him without words and had to be addressed quickly.

"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the murder of nine people by a assailant focusing on residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
